Job description

At the Y, our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Join our Greater Cleveland YMCA team in living our cause and helping to provide quality, safe and healthy programs and services in our community.
We are looking for fun and creative Seasonal Camp Counselors!
Do you love spending time with children of all ages? Was your time at summer camp a cherished memory? Would you like to share your experiences and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of those around you?
As a YMCA Summer Camp Counselor you are responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of our camp activities. This is a seasonal position that starts at the end of May and runs through mid-August.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 1-year experience working with children in a day camp setting preferred.
  • Experience with outdoor recreation, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, games, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  • We conduct a comprehensive background check for all employees who work with children and youth.
