Position Summary

The Department of Mathematics and Physics is currently seeking adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and student learning in a Christian work environment. With the growth of many of our programs and the increase in our student population as a whole, we are now offering more sections of many courses. We are looking for adjunct professors to teach some or all of the following courses: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Math for Critical Thinking (sometimes called Math for Liberal Arts), Finite Mathematics, Precalculus, and possibly Calculus I. The College offers both daytime and evening adjunct opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established departmental and institutional guidelines.

  • Provides timely, quality access to students via electronic communication and other appropriate methods.

  • Evaluates students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.

  • Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

  • Submits paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.

  • Must be available to students outside of the classroom.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a masters degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.

  • Ability to teach most freshman level mathematics courses.

  • Demonstrate expertise in appropriate and current instructional pedagogy.
