About Us
Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Psychology is a key academic position that plays a key role in advancing the mission of Albany State University. This is a Tenure-Track position. The position is responsible for delivering high quality instruction, advising students, and participating in departmental and university activities. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, curriculum development, participating in professional development activities, and seeking additional funding for research. The successful candidate should be able to teach upper level and potentially graduate level courses.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of course content and curricula.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to students, providing guidance on course selection and planning, career planning, and other additional matters as deemed necessary.
  • Participate in departmental committees, meetings, and other university initiatives.
  • Engage with community outreach through collaborations, workshops, and service-based leadership.

Required Qualifications
PhD in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience teaching in Psychology.
A record of scholarly achievements and/or impactful service.
Preferred Qualifications
College Teaching Experience.
Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
