Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality first-person and third-person weapon and tactical animations, including reloads, slides, vaults, weapon inspections, and other combat-related actions, ensuring realistic feel and smooth gameplay pacing.
  • Establish quality standards and production guidelines for realistic animation. Define asset output specifications and coordinate outsourced animation production to maintain consistent styles across multiple characters and weapon types.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and Technical Animators to optimize hit reactions, camera shake, and physics-driven accessories, using animation details to enhance combat feedback and tactical immersion.
  • Participate in the design of innovative interaction animations, such as dynamic weapon inspections with different attachments, posture variations under different load conditions, and terrain-adaptive traversal animations to enrich battlefield experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional 3D animation experience, including at least 3 years on FPS or TPS projects. Experience shipping realistic military shooters or survival shooters is preferred. Proficiency with 3ds Max, Maya, MotionBuilder, and deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 animation systems or comparable engines.
  • Strong understanding of body mechanics, firearm operation, and tactical movements. Ability to differentiate weapon handling styles through subtle timing and motion details. Motion capture experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with first-person weapon sway systems. Experience with procedural animation or implementing facial capture workflows is preferred. Being a dedicated player of realistic shooters such as Arena Breakout: Infinite, Escape from Tarkov, or similar titles is a plus.
  • Strong attention to realistic gameplay feel and animation details, with the ability to balance visual quality and runtime performance. Comfortable with iterative development and repeated polish. Excellent cross-functional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
