Job Title:                    

Medical Laboratory Scientist MT (f/k/a Medical Technologist) (multiple positions)

East Chicago, IN

Salary:

$63,627.20 to $94,449.60 (annually) or $30.59 to $46.37 (hourly)

Responsibilities:

MULTIPLE POSITIONS -- Performs moderate and highly complex clinical procedures to conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components. Uses sophisticated instrumentation to obtain accurate laboratory test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Analyzes and documents a variety of microscopic, bacteriologic, immunohematologic and/or chemical diagnostic laboratory tests; conducts advanced tests and Lab utilization activities. Accountable for all tasks and responsibilities as designated by the CLIA rule and/or delegations made as a result (laboratory documentation delineates this specific information). Completes all assigned Quality Control and IQCP activities. Supports the Proficiency Testing program, as assigned. Performs the laboratory technologist duties including enter data from analysis of medical test or clinical results into computer for storage. Duties are performed under the supervision of a Senior Technologist, or Laboratory Administrative Director/Site Laboratory Manager. Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a similarly related field and 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or a similar occupation. Requires MT/MLS (ASCP)/NCA or equivalent certification or the ability to obtain such certification within 1 year of hire. Must be able to work 3 pm to 11 pm or 7 am to 3 pm shifts including rotating weekends and holidays.
