Job description

About the role

TheField Engineer will have responsibility for reviewing all solar project site activities, including safety, construction progress, compliance, quality assurance and quality control both on-site and through remote measures. They will work hand in hand with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Subcontractors, and other support staff. This role has a tremendous opportunity for growth because of our large and diversified pipeline in Wisconsin and across the United States.

This position may be filled at either the Associate Field Engineer or Field Engineer level. Placement will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

What you'll do

Field Engineer: In addition to the tasks listed in the Associate Field Engineer section, the Field Engineer will also:

  • Lead OneEnergy’s day-to-day construction oversight activities on solar construction projects located in the Midwest region.
  • Review construction requirements during the bid/proposal process and provide scope, budget, and schedule details as needed.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to HSE and QAQC plans through on-site and remote oversight.
  • Proactively prepare and communicate accurate project status summary or detailed reports to the management team, staff, or customers.

  • Provide leadership and support for the future project delivery strategy.
  • Support OneEnergy’s day-to-day construction oversight activities on solar construction projects located in the Midwest region.
  • Engage with the on-site EPC contractor and various other project stakeholders as OneEnergy’s primary project contact person supported by the Project Manager and Engineering team.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure consistent best practices for jobsite safety, quality, and subcontractor management.
  • Provide steady and reliable communication while also managing schedule, budget, contractors, people, risk, and resources.
  • Facilitate clear communication of project requirements and expectations between on-site construction, procurement, engineering and administrative staff to ensure all owner project needs and internal administrative requirements are met.
  • Analyze construction methods for value and efficiency. Collaborate with engineering to update and communicate best practices that allow OneEnergy to maintain an industry leadership position.
  • Support contractor adherence to HSE and QAQC plans through on-site and remote oversight.
  • Proactively prepare and communicate accurate project status summary or detailed reports to the Delivery PM’s.
  • Create and foster continuous improvement between internal teams, utilizing tools, and following company processes where directed.
  • Operate in a professional, responsible, and collaborative manner with all project participants.

Qualifications:

Field Engineer: In addition to the qualifications listed in the Associate Field Engineer section, the Field Engineer will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering, construction, and/or technical project experience.
  • PMP Certification preferred, but not required.
  • A proven ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to project stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 years of engineering, construction and/or technical project experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in solar energy or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities often across functional and operational lines.
  • Ability to contribute to an amicable working environment with other associates and employees.
  • Position required frequent travel, approximately 5 0%-80% in the field, depending on time of year.
  • Proficient PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows. Experience in construction management software (Procore, Autodesk Build, MS Project, etc) a benefit.
  • Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $92,000-$135,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience

OneEnergy’s compensation packages are dependent on an array of factors including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other organizational needs.
