About us:In 2016, the Commonwealth of Virginia selected a Cintra-led consortium to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the express lanes on Interstate 66 Outside the Beltway. The project will transform this critical Northern Virginia artery to relieve congestion, improve safety and provide more predictable travel times. The project corridor extends approximately 22 miles along Interstate 66 from the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Gainesville (US Route 29). Once completed, the project will include three toll-free general-purpose lanes in each direction and two express lanes in each direction with a state-of-the-art open-road electronic toll collection system. Expanded transit service, park-and-ride lots and interchange enhancements will further improve travel along I-66. The project will also connect several shared use paths to create more multimodal options. As an innovative and efficient public-private partnership, this project will be completed at a $2.5 billion net savings for the Commonwealth of Virginia.What makes us different? About the Role:

The Roadway Maintenance Technician operates automotive and maintenance equipment to transport material, equipment and maintenance personnel as well as performing skilled highway maintenance duties. Also, participates in the maintenance of buildings. Works with maintenance personnel receives assignments from the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, and on occasions supervises personnel on various job assignments. You will guide and/or train less experienced personnel on equipment operation and roadway maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Operates assigned automotive equipment and construction equipment such as tractors, mowers, sweepers, bucket trucks and Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA's), and operate assigned gas or hand tools to complete Daily Assignments

Inspects equipment for proper operating condition, makes minor repairs or adjustments, lubricates and assists in making repairs as required

Performs miscellaneous skilled maintenance on the I-66 Express Lanes Project as required.

Performs miscellaneous duties, such as general traffic control, pavement repair, landscaping, painting, revamping, miscellaneous barrier repairs, and available on call after hours for emergency maintenance service, as needed

Responds to traffic incidents, provides roadside assistance to motorists on I-66 and is available on-call after hours for emergency incident response, as needed

Performs miscellaneous building maintenance as required

Any other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Driver's License. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required but the candidate should have the ability to obtain a CDL, if needed, in the future.

0 -3+ years of experience in general roadway maintenance, traffic control, and traffic management is desired

Previous experience with construction vehicles

Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics

Ability to interact with colleagues in a team structure

Self-motivated and able to motivate

Good communication skills

User level of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and capable of learning and use other PC-based software

Must be able to multitask and problem solve within a fast-paced environment
