Job description

As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon's unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers' businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon's real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions.

Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
Amazon SES is a cloud-based email service provider that enables businesses to send and receive emails securely, reliably, and at scale.
We are messaging experts who help customers have their biggest day ever-Black Friday sends, product launch announcements, the notifications that matter most.

Our team spans Seattle and Dublin, and we're fun, funny, and fiercely ambitious about what we build. We dedicate real time to growth and experimentation, whether that's exploring new AI capabilities, testing bold product ideas, or developing our craft. We genuinely delight in the success and growth of our colleagues.

When someone on this team wins, we all feel it. If you want to do meaningful work with people who take the mission seriously and themselves lightly, this is a team where you'll thrive-and grow your career doing it.
Key job responsibilities
Define and own product strategy, feature design, and technology approach for an externally-offered service. Deliver independently with limited guidance, managing both development and business aspects alongside a dedicated engineering team

Serve on cross-functional roadmap items with End User Messaging, aligning priorities across shared customers and complementary channel capabilities.
Set the strategic direction for the service-shaping customer adoption decisions, engineering priorities, vendor and partner relationships, and cross-organizational alignment across Marketing, Business Development, and Sales.
Serve as the Voice of the Customer. Define the service vision (PR/FAQ), business strategy (branding, economic modeling, pricing, forecasting), and technology strategy. Generalize requirements across diverse customer personas and determine minimum viable product scope-discerning essential features from those that can be triaged or omitted.
Make smart trade-offs balancing time, effort, and features

Align stakeholders across complex scenarios. Engage at every point in the service lifecycle, owning launches and post-launch performance. Perform on-call for the service and own critical incident response through remediation.
Drive engineering and go-to-market commitments across Solutions Architecture, Business Development, and Sales

Produce clear, concise documents-PR/FAQs, technical specifications, architecture designs. Lead strategic discussions (vision, narratives, MBR/QBR) with internal leaders and external decision-makers. Contribute to Operational Planning (known as OP1) and pricing documents.

A day in the life
No two days look the same on this team-and that's the point. You'll partner with builders across Amazon to define how businesses communicate with their customers at massive scale, shaping services that process billions of messages for customers worldwide and also for Amazon's retail properties.
On any given day, you might lead a design review with engineers on a new deliverability feature, align with Solutions Architecture on an enterprise customer's integration, or drive a strategic discussion with leadership on your service's three-year vision. You'll write PR/FAQs that define what's next, make trade-off decisions that ship the right thing faster, and own outcomes from concept through launch and beyond.
The pace of AI is transforming everything we build-and how we build it

You'll work with technologies including generative AI and agentic experiences to reimagine messaging workflows, rebuild legacy processes, and create entirely new capabilities that didn't exist a year ago. If you're energized by rapid innovation cycles, thrive in ambiguity, and want to be at the forefront of AI-powered communication, this is where that work is happening.
This role demands curiosity, ownership, and a bias for action. You'll operate with autonomy, move fast alongside world-class engineers, and directly influence how AWS customers reach their end users.
