Position Overview

We are hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead a growing maintenance team and build a modern, proactive maintenance function at a fast-evolving food production facility. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity where you will not simply maintain systems, you will shape them.

You’ll step into a role with strong executive backing, the ability to implement new systems, and real authority to drive uptime, process improvements, and facility modernization. You’ll have direct responsibility for team leadership, preventative maintenance programs, emergency repairs, vendor management, and long-term automation initiatives.

The right candidate will thrive in an environment where results are visible, decisions are supported, and success is measured by your leadership, not just your technical skills. If you want the autonomy to lead, the resources to modernize, and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on a growing operation, this role is built for you.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage team schedules, prioritize emergency repairs, oversee compressors, boilers, preventive maintenance, inventory, vendor relations, and support cross-functional plant operations.
  • Quality Control: Conduct root cause analyses, implement CAPAs, audit mechanical and GMP standards, validate equipment setups, and address maintenance SOP deviations.
  • Team Leadership: Train new and current Technicians, ensure completion of required trainings, support production teams, and lead by example in company policies and safety practices.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment through audits, enforcement of GMPs and PPE use, prompt hazard resolution, and incident reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster lean practices, identify process improvement opportunities, and engage teams in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete shift reports, maintain accurate equipment and operations documentation, and communicate issues or delays to the VP of Operations.

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or facility operations
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance operations, including anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems, RPM, and budgeting (including capital expenditures)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, both one-on-one and in small group settings
  • Solid understanding of traffic laws, equipment operation, use of power/manual tools, manufacturing processes, and safety protocols
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Why Join Us?

  • Target base salary around $100,000 plus a 10% annual bonus opportunity
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; retirement savings plan with company match; paid time off and holidays; professional development and growth opportunities
  • Relocation support available for qualified candidates
  • Opportunity to build and lead a proactive maintenance team with direct executive support and investment in automation and modernization
  • Visible impact on production uptime, quality, and facility performance in a stable, growing company
  • Positive, collaborative culture focused on leadership development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Hands-on leadership role with responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and developing technicians while advancing modernization initiatives
