Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for identification, coordination and planning of work order related activities supporting the department through technical and administrative assignments and ensuring that the department implements and complies with applicable administrative and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare quality work instructions to repair, restore, perform preventive maintenance, or perform modifications to plant equipment based on technical understanding and engineering principles, while upholding the standards and expectations of the TVA Nuclear Power Group.
  • Plan online and outage work instructions daily using company approved software and procedures.
  • Review completed planned work orders and test instructions for documentation requirements, context and clarity.
  • Provide technical support to craft personnel.
  • Provide data from completed work for input to equipment history files and utilize this data to enhance work order planning.
  • Support and participate in the Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.
  • Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by TVA and the NRC.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • The ideal candidate would possess an academic degree in engineering or related field AND have three years or more of nuclear power generation related work experience.
OR
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED and have eight or more years of work experience in nuclear generation or a related industry.
Work Experience:
  • Work order planning experience within the TVA power group is desired.
  • The candidate must be proficient in basic computer skills, including word processing type programs and various data base programs.
  • The candidate must have a mechanical background and basic working knowledge of mechanical systems and components. Hands-on experience in the discipline is desired.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
  • Will work a 4x10 schedule with overtime as needed. Possible On-call rotation including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to work unusual/extended hours as necessary during seasonal peaks which may include weekend coverage. Must be able to report to work site as necessary. (Not a remote position.)
  • Candidate must complete the Planner Training Program within 6 months. Required to meet the needs of the business.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.

  • High temperature area entry.
