The Assistant Technical Support Manager, Field Outage Services (ATSM) is a pivotal role established to strengthen field service performance through enhanced operational oversight, back-office support, and cross-functional collaboration within the Power Generation Services (PGS) organization. Supporting Technical Support Managers (TSMs), the ATSM serves as a critical link between field execution and internal teams, including PMO, Quality, Service Operations, Sales, and LTSA, ensuring alignment, accountability, and consistency across all phases of outage planning and execution. This role drives continuous improvement in processes, tools, and documentation while helping elevate safety, quality, and operational efficiency standards. The ATSM also plays a key role in workforce development, outage readiness, and performance monitoring to support a responsive and high-performing Field Outage Services organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Coordinate and support outage planning, readiness reviews, and execution activities.
  • Monitor outage readiness and progress through established planning tools and proactively address identified gaps or delays.
  • Collaborate with PMO, Sales, LTSA, Quality, Service Operations, and Resource Management teams to ensure successful outage execution.
  • Review and validate outage scope sheets, work packages, datasheets, and final reports for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Support outage staffing efforts and resource alignment with the Resourcing Team.
  • Provide surge support during peak outage periods, including field deployment when necessary.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, inspections, and CORE reviews to ensure compliance with operational, safety, and quality standards.
  • Review Safety Flashes, Quality Flashes, ERFs, and POET evaluations, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide technical guidance related to turbine, generator, and balance of plant (BOP) maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the development and standardization of field service processes, tools, and systems to improve operational performance.
  • Support recruiting initiatives, candidate interviews, workforce assessments, and training needs evaluations.
  • Travel overnight approximately 20% or more to support customer and business needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of directly related experience in field service, outage management, maintenance, engineering, or power generation operations.
  • Familiarity with turbine, generator, and power plant systems including maintenance and operational practices.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret technical documents, business reports, and operational requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise business systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license and passport with the ability to travel as business needs require.
