Job description

Locum OB/GYN Physician Needed

Mary Rutan Hospital is urgently seeking a locum OB/GYN physician to cover open dates. Practice setting: clinic/hospital – on call – OB/GYN. Dates needed: Thursday, 06/25/2026 – Friday, 06/26/2026, with potential for sporadic coverage after! Schedule (shifts and hours): 7 am on 6/25/26 thru 7 am on 6/26/26. Provider would need to be within a 30-minute radius at all times while on call.

Deliveries (average one per day; approx. 360 births/year) 1:4 call rotation (weekday and weekend) Meditech Expanse EMR for documentation and patient management APPs, nursing staff Total number of beds: staffed beds – 45, plus 20 room ED. Average number of scheduled patients per day: N/A Number of physicians in practice: 4 How many APPs provide coverage: 0 Will the locums be responsible for supervising other health care providers? no What percentage of practice is high risk pregnancy: occasional high risk delivery. High risk deliveries are typically referred to tertiary centers. Average number of GYN surgeries per day (if applicable): N/A What percentage of patients are C-section: 30% Average number of nursery admissions per day: 1 Nursery level (I, II, III): 1 Certification requirement (BLS, ACLS, etc.): BLS, ACLS What are the required obstetrics procedures:

  • Low risk pregnancy (i.e. history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, etc.) yes
  • High risk pregnancy (i.e. with toxemia, diabetes, class II or higher cardiacs, chronic lung problems, chronic renal disease, etc.) no
  • FHR interpretation – NST/CST/FSE NST & FSE
  • OB ultrasounds – performance of interpretation
  • OB ultrasounds – performance of level I/screening (viability)

  • Provider must be internally credentialed with agency before submission- [REQUIRED]
  • Please note that we require 50 deliveries in the last 12 months with at least 5 being C-sections for credentialing purposes.
