  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on network equipment and update asset inventories.
  • Develop, test, and document backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems (e.g., Datto S5-4 backup devices, AppAssure Backup).
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and other contractors to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Install and configure new servers, transfer data, and integrate with existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across Town facilities (e.g., Town Hall, Police Department, Fire Department).
  • Provide monthly reports on network performance and support issues to the Town’s point-of-contact.
  • Ensure compliance with CJIS requirements for network security and data handling.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of experience in network administration, including managing Windows Server environments and firewalls (e.g., SonicWALL).
    • Experience with fiber networks (e.g., OSHEAN) and IP telephony (e.g., Cox IP Centrex).
    • Familiarity with backup systems (e.g., Datto, AppAssure) and disaster recovery planning.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
