Job description

Experienced construction installer wanted. Lead commercial installation crews installing premium architectural window coverings in offices, schools, and commercial buildings. Great fit for finish carpenters, millwork installers, and detail-oriented tradespeople.

Position Summary

The Installation Foreman directs, controls, and oversees field installation activities for assigned projects. This role serves as the primary point of contact between field crews, Project Managers, General Contractors, and the Head of Installation. The Installation Foreman is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to Lutek’s high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent in the technical responsibilities of Installation Technician I, II, and III.
  • Perform and document accurate field measures for window openings and project sites.
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact for assigned projects; provide regular schedule updates to Project Managers.
  • Direct and oversee daily activities of Installation Technicians I, II, and III.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, GC Superintendents, and the manufacturing team to track job progress and align installation schedules.
  • Prepare daily schedules, paperwork, and equipment needs for each installation team.
  • Ensure crews load and depart on time each morning (within 15–20 minutes).
  • Review production paperwork and submittals to verify work is completed per contract.
  • Update job status daily in company project management software.
  • Lead QA walkthroughs following project completion.
  • Manage punch work within contract timeframes; escalate liquidated damages or back charges to the Head of Installation immediately.
  • Stay current on window covering systems, construction methods, and installation best practices.
  • Develop and train installation team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues including motorized system diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead a crew on commercial construction sites.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, manufacturer specs, and field measures.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with computers and project tracking software.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; climb ladders and scaffolding safely.
  • Spider lift, scissor lift, and height access certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of experience installing commercial window coverings (shades, blinds, draperies, motorized systems).
  • Experience with motorized window covering systems.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction project scheduling.
  • Experience coordinating with GC superintendents on large-scale projects.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, as the Installation Lead at times will manage and communicate directly with a Spanish-speaking contractor crew. Familiarity with Venezuelan Spanish is a strong plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $25.00 – $33.00/hr (based on experience).
  • Pay increase and expanded responsibilities upon promotion to Installation Lead at 6 months.
  • Allocation of a company vehicle upon promotion to Installation Lead at 6 months.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays.

Work Environment

  • Each day begins and ends at Lutek’s headquarters at 5315 Xenon St, Arvada, CO, with field work performed on commercial job sites throughout the Denver metro area and beyond.
  • Work schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some Fridays on call.
  • Out-of-town travel required occasionally; per diem provided.
  • Full-time position.
