Job description

Simulation and skills related:

  • Prepare and maintain clinical laboratory and simulation environments with extreme attention to detail including props and moulage.
  • Sets-up, reset and take-down simulation, deliberative practice, remediation, and testing environments.
  • Support faculty and staff during planning, trialing, validation, and running of laboratory and/or simulation-based education activities.
  • Assist students and faculty with use of technology (simulators, computers, and audio-visual equipment).
  • Operate simulators according to scenario guides and activity specifications.
  • Perform manikin software programing and implement simulated scenarios.
  • Demonstrate application of simulation-based education best practices.
  • Contribute to development and refinement of simulation-based activities.
  • Provide remediation support to students according to faculty specifications and communicate student's progress per CON policies.

Inventory and maintenance related:

  • Participate in efficient and cost-effective management of consumable supplies, durable resources, and manikin maintenance including minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and general cleanliness.
  • Assist in maintaining organized ongoing supply inventory, placing orders, and stocking supplies.
  • Maintain inventory, par stock and related documents for consumable and durable laboratory resources.
  • Maintain testing supplies separate from lab kits and open stock to ensure needed items are on-hand for testing.
  • Restock, organize, and maintain supply areas and carts.
  • Provide ongoing support and management of student laboratory kits.

Other:

  • Maintain awareness and careful use of simulation-based education activities calendar(s).
  • Participate in CON simulation team meetings and assigned work groups.
  • Support development and refinement of processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize software, applications, and databases as directed.
  • Support orientation and mentoring of new faculty and staff.
  • Work with volunteer students as assigned.
  • Assist with tours and events for a variety of groups and organizations.
