Is it hard to get hired as a sterile processing tech?

While demand for these roles is steady in healthcare settings, competition can vary based on location and experience, making certifications like CBSPD or IAHCSMM beneficial for employment prospects.

Can you make 6 figures as a sterile processing technician?

Sterile processing technicians typically earn salaries below six figures, with most earning between $35,000 and $55,000 annually. Achieving a six-figure income may require additional certifications, experience, or advancing into supervisory or specialized roles within healthcare facilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an On Call CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), and why are they important?

To thrive as an On Call CRCST, you need strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and surgical instrument handling, usually supported by CRCST certification from IAHCSMM. These skills are essential to ensure patient safety, prevent infections, and support efficient surgical operations.
