Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily blending operations and optimization in collaboration with trading and terminal operations to maximize product value and margins.

  • Utilize and maintain linear programing models to determine optimal blend recipes while meeting regulatory and product specifications.

  • Work with the trading team daily to determine the optimal components needed to maximize profitability.

  • Coordinate with the commercial team and leverage knowledge of refinery operations and market dynamics to align blending strategies with changing short- and long-term market opportunities.

  • Serve as in-house subject matter resource for internal and regional gasoline logistics and supply constraints and opportunities.

  • Direct logistics for product movements into and out of the blending terminal facilities - pipeline, marine, railcars & trucks - work with schedulers to avoid supply disruptions.

  • Assist in the settlement process of all transactions related to the blending program to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation.

  • Collaborate with the internal EPA Reporting team to maintain full compliance with all applicable EPA regulations. Maintain detailed documentation of all blend operations on an ongoing basis for year-end reporting to EPA and other regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, finance, economics, or related field of study.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of linear programming and modeling is required.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Gasoline Blending or similar role within the petroleum or energy sector.

  • Prior Oil Operations logistics experience in gasoline markets.

  • Strong knowledge of chemical processing, petroleum products, and relevant market dynamics.

  • The ability to be on call 24/7.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, trading environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:

Usually, normal office working conditions.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
