JOB SUMMARY:

The Site Manager is responsible for leading the daily maintenance operations of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) at Miami International Airport. This role oversees site personnel, maintenance planning, safety compliance, and customer coordination to ensure reliable equipment performance and uninterrupted airport operations. The Site Manager serves as the primary point of contact for airport stakeholders, airlines, TSA, and customers while driving operational excellence, team development, and a strong safety culture.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead daily operations and maintenance activities for Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment uptime and contract compliance.

  • Coordinate workforce scheduling, work orders, and emergency response activities.

  • Maintain strong communication and relationships with airport authorities, airlines, TSA, and customers.

  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Supervise administrative functions including reporting, invoicing, staffing, and performance management.

  • Mentor, train, and support supervisors and technicians to drive employee engagement and operational success.

  • Monitor operational performance, customer satisfaction, and resource utilization to achieve site goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or applicable field and five years of supervisory or managerial experience in an airport operations or maintenance environment OR

  • Nine years of supervisory or managerial experience in an airport operations or maintenance environment

  • Ability to obtain necessary TSA and airport security clearance.

  • Ability to be on-call and work occasional evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in operations, facility maintenance, administration, finance, and safety preferred.

  • Experience working within a large airport hub environment.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, airport safety standards, and maintenance best practices.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Computer Skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management and understanding of CMMS.

  • Strong leadership abilities,coupled with demonstrated organizational, participative management, and verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of Site Manager, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close, proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The primary work environment is similar to an office environment. However, the Site Manager must have the ability to conduct business in outside weather conditions, near moving machinery parts; on an active Airport ramp; near vehicles and jet aircraft.

Pay Range:

$82,900.00 - $134,300.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
