This role requires deep retail process knowledge, strong technical acumen, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across business and technology organizations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Execution

  • Lead multi-year, multi-workstream programs focused on retail digital transformation and modernization.
  • Own program charter, roadmap, scope, timelines, resource plans, KPIs, risks, and governance.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination between Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, Data, Store Ops, and external partners.
  • Ensure program delivery aligns with business strategy, customer experience goals, and technology target-state architecture.

2. Retail Domain Expertise

  • Leverage deep understanding of retail processes such as:
    • Omnichannel fulfillment (BOPIS, curbside, same-day delivery)
    • POS systems and in-store technology modernization
    • Merchandising, inventory, and supply chain operations
    • ERP, OMS, WMS, and ecommerce platforms
  • Collaborate with retail business teams to capture needs, map pain points, and translate them into execution plans.

3. Digital Transformation

  • Drive initiatives around:
    • Cloud adoption and modernization
    • AI/ML and data analytics for customer insights
    • Store digitalization and workforce tools
    • Automation/RPA to optimize back-office and store operations
    • Enhancing ecommerce and mobile platforms
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with modern best practices.

4. Platform Modernization

  • Lead modernization of legacy systems into modern cloud-native or microservices-based architectures.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams on:
    • API modernization
    • Migration from monolith to distributed platforms
    • Adoption of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
    • Data platform modernization and migration
  • Manage technical dependencies, design decisions, and integration across enterprise platforms.

5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the bridge between senior executives, product owners, engineering leads, and vendors.
  • Facilitate program reviews, steering committees, and executive-level reporting.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor deliverables, contracts, SOWs, and SLAs.

6. Budget & Governance

  • Manage multimillion-dollar program budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate compliance, InfoSec, and enterprise PMO governance standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices across PM processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 1018 years of Program/Project Management experience.
  • Minimum 57 years in Retail technology programs.
  • Proven success leading:
    • Platform modernization
    • Enterprise cloud migrations
    • Omnichannel or ecommerce transformation
    • Store systems modernization
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise retail platforms (POS, ERP, OMS, WMS).
  • Expertise with Agile, SAFe, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP cloud ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with microservices, API-led modernization, data lakes, and event-driven architectures.
