Job Description:

IBM Sterling OMS (Order Management System) Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing end-to-end solutions utilizing IBM Sterling OMS to enable efficient order capture, fulfillment, inventory visibility, and reverse logistics within complex, omnichannel retail or e-commerce environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design: Design and architect overall order management solutions using IBM Sterling OMS, covering order capture, fulfillment pipelines, inventory management, and returns handling.
Develop architectural blueprints that fit organizational IT strategies and ensure integration with broader enterprise systems, including e-commerce, mobile apps, POS, WMS, payment processors, and other platforms.
Prepare and review High-Level and Low-Level design documents and lead design reviews with technical stakeholders.

Implementation & Integration: Lead implementations, upgrades, and customizations of Sterling OMS pipelines, participant models, inventory, order routing, and payment processes.
Guide integration efforts with third-party and in-house systems such as ERP, tax systems, CRM, and logistics partners.
Ensure system and solution scalability, compliance, and alignment with security best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business process and system analysts, business teams, and other technical leads to capture and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Serve as the key contact for cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle of solution delivery, from conception to deployment.
Partner closely with project management and client teams, ensuring timely and successful project completion.

Technical Leadership

Mentor and support technical teams and business users in understanding OMS functionality and implementation.
Review solutions and provide feedback to development and QA teams to ensure robustness and adherence to standards.
Champion adoption of best practices, operational excellence, and adherence to agile methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience

Hands-on expertise on Sterling upgrades and migrations.
Strong knowledge on latest fixpacks, next gen Order hub, Call Center and SOM applications, DTK setup.
Familiarity with industry standards and experience integrating Sterling OMS with a range of systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, tax, and payments).
Experience leading and mentoring technical teams and collaborating in cross-functional and client-facing environments.
Cloud Experience: AWS-based development and deployments, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency with Agile development tools and processes, such as JIRA, ADO, Bitbucket
Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
This role is highly strategic, requiring both broad systems thinking and deep Sterling OMS expertise to architect resilient, scalable, and high-performing order management solutions
