Job description

  • Implement daily curriculum and lesson plans that promote cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
  •  Create a positive, loving, and welcoming classroom where every child feels safe and valued. 
  •  Encourage independence by teaching self-help skills, including handwashing, feeding, cleaning up, and following classroom routines. 
  •  Assist children with potty training using patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement while communicating progress with families. 
  •  Perform diaper changes according to state licensing regulations while maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene procedures. 
  •  Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being. 
  •  Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized classroom, including toys, learning materials, bathrooms, and common areas. 
  •  Model positive behavior and help children learn sharing, kindness, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. 
  •  Build strong relationships with families through daily communication about each child's progress, milestones, and needs. 
  •  Work collaboratively with co-teachers and leadership to provide consistent, high-quality care. 
  •  Participate in classroom planning, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development. 
  •  Prepare classroom materials and learning centers before each day. 
  •  Follow all health, safety, licensing, and company policies and procedures. 
  •  Assist during meals and snacks while encouraging healthy eating habits and proper table manners. 
  •  Comfort and support children during transitions, separation anxiety, and emotional moments with patience and understanding. 
  •  Observe and document children's developmental progress and share observations with leadership as needed. 
  •  Help create fun, engaging experiences through music, art, sensory activities, outdoor play, and hands-on learning. 
  •  Maintain a flexible and positive attitude while supporting other classrooms and team members when needed.
