    Job Description:

    The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks a Special Education Teacher Aide. The successful candidate has proven experience working with students with special needs. Effective August 31, 2026, this is a full-time probationary/permanent civil service position. Salary commensurate with experience and on par with the CSEA Clerical, Teacher Aide/Teaching Assistant contract. Additional compensation in the amount of $4.00 per hour for toileting duties.     Description:

    Under general supervision of a certified teacher or school administrator, responsible for performing non-instructional duties to assist certified teachers in a classroom setting. Duties may vary depending upon student-specific needs.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; is regularly required to climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to reach above the head and reach forward; is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls, and to talk and hear; is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.

    We are focused on building an increasingly inclusive environment through an expansion of our continuum of services in general education and specialized program settings, through the ongoing development of exciting student opportunities including unified sports; and by offering expansive professional development including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training for our instructional and support staff.
