An Oil Rig Food Service job involves preparing, cooking, and serving meals to crew members working on offshore oil rigs. Duties may include meal planning, food storage, sanitation, and maintaining kitchen equipment. This role is essential for ensuring workers receive nutritious meals during long shifts in a remote environment. Positions range from kitchen assistants to head chefs, depending on experience and qualifications.
Oil Rig Food Service staff typically work on a rotation schedule, such as two weeks on and two weeks off, with shifts that can be 10–12 hours each day while on duty.
