CLASS SUMMARY Are you passionate about inspiring creativity and nurturing artistic talent. The City of Spokane invites applicants to apply for the position of TEMP SEASONAL - OIL PAINTING INSTRUCTOR The Corbin Art Center is seeking an experienced oil painting instructor to join our team in providing life enriching art programs to the Spokane community. As our painting instructor you will be responsible for developing and delivering a diverse curriculum that encompasses acrylic painting techniques, while providing an inclusive learning environment.

Classes are for beginning to intermediate students where you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the fundamentals of painting while encouraging them to explore their own unique artistic voices. EXAMPLES OF JOB FUNCTIONS The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must beable to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities: Develop and implement art curriculum and lesson plans Teach fundamental art techniques and concepts Guide students in exploring various oil painting skills Provide constructive feedback on student artwork Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment Stay updated with the latest art trends and educational techniques Inspire and motivate students to pursue their artistic interests Encourage students to experiment and express themselves creatively Manage classroom supplies and materials Teach oil for beginner and intermediate classes Painting Instructor Preferred Qualifications & Skills Previous teaching experience in an academic or community setting Degree in Art or related field Proficiency in a wide range of art techniques and mediums Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and inspire students Flexibility and adaptability in teaching methods Knowledge of art history and contemporary art trends Patience and attentiveness to individual student needs Creative problem-solving skills Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development Proven ability to teach and mentor students Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic skills Excellent organizational skills Proficient in classroom management Ability to create engaging lesson plans Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment Familiarity with safety practices for art materials and tools MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years of age Highschool diploma/GED Ability to lift 25lbs Ability to climb stairs Ability to exercise proper care of equipment and facility We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity within our organization.
