Position Summary
The primary location of this position is on-site at the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
This position is responsible for the coordination of all painting activities undertaken by
the Department of Residential Living.
This position will be responsible for, but not limited
to the following:

1. Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and managing and retention of a student paint crew of between 10 and 30 student employees
2. Supply allocation and logistical planning for various paint projects
3. Discussion of weekly work plans and weekly progress reports
4. Supervision of the student workers, including documentation of work related issues with an emphasis on safety
5. Work quality must meet standards set forth by the Department of Residential Living
6. Payroll management for entire paint crew
7. Reporting daily to the Assistant Director for Facilities in order to receive updated work assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Must possess knowledge of commercial painting procedures and practices. Must possess knowledge of commercial painting materials and applications, including latex, oil paint products, and grout products. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and physically move paint supplies and furnishings as needed to complete assigned work orders. Must have the ability to follow direction, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
