We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Crude Oil Lease Buyer who will be accountable to originate, negotiate and manage crude oil supply across key US Basins. This involves building and optimizing a crude oil supply portfolio while identifying and executing expansion opportunities into new producing regions.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for supply origination and commercial development sourcing and securing crude oil supply directly from producers, marketers and aggregators across target basins. Negotiate crude purchase agreements, including price structures. Identify under-contracted or distressed barrels and convert them into long-term supply relationships.

  • Relationship management building and maintaining strong relationships with upstream operators, midstream companies and transport providers. Serve as the primary commercial contact for producers in assigned regions, maintaining a regular field presence to strengthen partnerships and uncover new opportunities.

  • Execution of market and price strategy, monitoring regional crude markets and differentials. Optimize netback through strategic selection of delivery points, pipelines, rail, or trucking. Identify arbitrage opportunities across basins and delivery markets.

  • Enable logistic and execution coordinating with scheduling, trucking, pipelines and terminals to ensure seamless crude movements. Understand and manage constraints related to takeaway capacity, quality specifications and optimization requirements. Troubleshoot operational issues impacting pipeline flows or pricing.

  • Growth and Expansion of the business developing and executing strategies to expand into new basins and emerging opportunities. Evaluate infrastructure developments including pipelines, terminals and storage to support expansion. Build a scalable supply footprint aligned with company growth objectives.

  • Work with credit and risk to ensure business falls within policy limits. Provide accounting with monthly profit estimates.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years progressive related industry experience, specifically in commodity and capacity trading, scheduling.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess challenges and drive effective solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating across teams.

  • Ability to facilitate discussions, empower others, and motivate team members.

  • Proven capability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Dynamic commodity trading working environment in an open area office environment.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
