Job description

Candidate Location: Permian Basin, Austin Metro, Dallas Metro, Houston Metro or San Antonio Metro

About the Role

Strata Innovative Solutions is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive growth across Texas with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas industry by developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts. This role requires strong knowledge of SCADA systems, industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, and operational technology (OT) environments.  The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with proven business development skills and enjoys spending time in the field building customer relationships and identifying opportunities. This is a customer- and field-facing role requiring regular travel to customer offices, production facilities, well sites, compressor stations, processing facilities, pipeline facilities, and other project locations in Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across Oil & Gas upstream, midstream, processing, industrial, manufacturing, utility, and infrastructure markets
  • Develop relationships with Oil & Gas operators, midstream companies, EPC firms, engineering companies, general contractors, OEMs, and other strategic partners.
  • Build relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, engineers, and key decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities involving:
    • SCADA systems
    • Industrial automation
    • Controls modernization
    • System integration
    • Electrical infrastructure projects
    • IIoT and digital transformation initiatives
  • Maintain an active engagement and lead generation through regular customer visits, job-site visits, facility walkdowns, project meetings, industry events, and relationship-building activities.
  • Lead opportunities from prospecting through contract award.
  • Partner with Strata's engineering and operations teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Represent Strata at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business development, technical sales, account management, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA, industrial automation, controls, or operational technology systems.
  • Experience selling engineering services, automation solutions, industrial software, or system integration projects.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and close complex sales opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience

  • Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware, VTScada, Geo SCADA, FactoryTalk, or similar platforms
  • Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or other PLC/HMI systems
  • Oil & Gas, Midstream, Utilities, Water/Wastewater, or Manufacturing
  • Industrial networking and instrumentation systems

Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel throughout the Permian Basin, Austin Metro, Dallas Metro, Houston Metro and San Antonio Metro markets.
  • Ability to drive to customer facilities, jobsites, and project locations.
  • Overnight travel required based on customer needs and business development activities.
  • Ability to safely access active industrial and construction environments.
