Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Accountant to provide ongoing accounting support for a small independent oil and gas company in the Tulsa area. This is a part-time opportunity for an accounting professional who can work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have prior oil and gas accounting experience and be comfortable managing all day-to-day accounting functions in a small-company environment. The position will be fully remote after initial training. You must reside in the Tulsa area to be considered.

Estimated Workload

· Approximately 25 hours per week

· Flexible work schedule

· Initial training and transition will be provided

Primary Responsibilities

· Mail pick-up twice per week in Tulsa

· Weekly bank deposits at a BOK branch

· Process accounts payable weekly as needed

· Perform monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) billing

· Submit revenue to SSI weekly

· Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger monthly

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations

· Perform month-end close and prepare financial statements

· Maintain accounting records within SSI accounting software

· Respond to owner and vendor accounting inquiries

· Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation

· Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

· Prior oil and gas accounting experience is required.

· Experience with SSI accounting software is required.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.
