Essential Duties and Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

The General Manager, Global Oil & Gas, has responsibility for the manufacturing operations, commercial activities and total performance of the Global Oil & Gas assembled product business (Engineering and Services).  

Addressable product markets include Upstream Drilling, Upstream Services, Hydrocarbon Transport Systems and downstream Refining & Facilities segments. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Own the P&L for Gates E&S across the Global Market, ensuring that the business meets or exceeds both its top-line and bottom-line results. Develop and execute strategic and operating plans that align with the BU and Company objectives.
  • Ensures end user customer and distribution channel partner relationships are effective for Gates to continuously improve its market share position and deliver superior margins.  Has a core responsibility to lead the business development efforts for Gates E&S globally.
  • Lead sales and marketing strategy to drive profitable revenue growth across target markets and channel. Ensure effective gotomarket execution, pricing discipline, and customer segmentation.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of manufacturing and assembly operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. Drive operational excellence using lean, continuous improvement, and productivity initiatives.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operations activities related to product storage, assembly, testing and delivery of high- and low-pressure products.
  • Ensures continuous synergy between Gates E&S and other Gates activities, including specifically the Industrial Replacement and Fluid Power businesses.
Keys to Success
  • Significant experience in global Oil and Gas upstream activities with experience in the provision of products and/or services to the drilling market.   Exposure and experience to other core O&G markets including midstream and/or downstream activities would be beneficial.
  • Possesses existing relationships with primary customer base (Drilling operators, Oilfield Service providers, and / or O&G OEM suppliers).
  • Ability to develop and lead effective and capable multi-site plant operations in particular establishing systematic continuous improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory environments related to the global O&G industry including but not limited to API 7k and 16c standards and recommended practices.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to control costs and to optimize business performance to translate revenues into bottom line results.
Requirements and Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing operations, management and leadership experience.  
  • Proven experience with Global P&L ownership and managing complex multi-site operations
  • At least 5 years of experience in global commercial activities related to product sales to industrial markets in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
