Job description

CDL Driver

We are looking for physically fit candidates with good attention to details for our position of a CDL Driver. The primary duties of the CDL Driver includes performing Pre-Trip / Post Trip inspections, Securing Loads for Transport, Reporting Mechanical Problems, Maintaining the vehicle in good condition, and doing delivery paperwork.

Regular attendance is essential. Must arrive at work on time, be prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Employee must be able to communicate effectively with management, customers and others. Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or others. Requested accommodations to work hours and schedules are considered on an individual basis.

CDL Driver Responsibilities:

  • The Driver's responsibilities include obtaining customers’ signatures upon completion of each delivery, ensuring that the freight is properly secured for transportation, and notifying management of any freight damage sustained during transportation.
  • Checks oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, etc., and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure vehicle is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for job site.
  • Drives tractor-trailer truck, dump truck, pickup or other truck, hauling materials to or from a job site.
  • Operates forklift, Boom Lifts & Backhoe as needed to load and unload.
  • Operates Winch Truck as needed. (Not required but definitely helps operation)
  • Responsible for safe operation of a commercial vehicle
  • Maintains records on materials hauled to job sites & submits to proper personal required.
  • Carefully planning routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
  • Promptly report any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management.
  • Notifying Management and customers of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times.
  • Assisting in the loading and unloading of freight into and off the company truck.
  • The Driver should also ensure that the truck is labeled with the correct placards when transporting hazardous materials or oversized cargo.
