Position Summary 

Zachry Construction is seeking experienced Oilers and Lubrication Technicians to service and maintain heavy construction equipment on large-scale projects. The Oiler/Lubrication Technician is responsible for ensuring all equipment is properly lubricated, maintained, and safe for operation. This position plays a vital role in maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime through regular inspection, oil analysis, and preventive maintenance. Please note that a drive-home truck is not provided for this position. 


What You'll Do 

  • Perform daily lubrication and preventive maintenance services on a wide range of heavy construction equipment, including cranes, pavers, dirt and plant equipment, and other machinery. 
  • Collect, label, and analyze oil samples for lab testing; interpret oil analysis results and report findings. 
  • Maintain accurate and organized service records and daily task logs. 
  • Conduct equipment inspections and prepare written reports on conditions, deficiencies, and recommended actions. 
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure all equipment is free from excessive oil and grease buildup. 
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all maintenance and service activities. 
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures, reporting any issues promptly. 
  • Demonstrate responsibility, professionalism, and punctuality at all times. 
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed to support project operations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For 

  • Class A or B CDL with X endorsement and Hazmat certification required. 
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or completion of diesel-related technical coursework preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of lubrication systems, oil sampling, and analysis interpretation. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work. 
  • Must supply own hand tools (up to 1" wrenches and sockets); larger specialty tools provided by Zachry. 
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with computers and basic recordkeeping software preferred. 
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
