Assistant Maintenance Manager

This position is a C&W Services leadership development program, RISE. The program is 12 weeks and consists of classroom, on-the-job rotational experiences, mentorship, and time with subject matter experts; all of which are designed to provide a broad range of experiences to accelerate development to be successful in role.

You will be joining RISE, a leadership skill development training program that will be supported by both the local market and the global learning and development team. This program includes:

  • A structured learning plan designed to develop core professional skills
  • A cohort of peers for knowledge sharing, comradery, and networking
  • Leadership engagement to ensure long-term objectives and goals are met
  • Exposure to and interaction with a variety of successful leaders including Regional Maintenance Managers & Director
  • Exposure to and perspective from a variety of subject matter experts including technical roles, Safety, HR, Talent Acquisition, Operations Support

What You’ll Be Doing…

As a frontline leader at C&W Services, you will be a critical member of leading team members in providing reliability and maintenance engineering oversight and solutions, including repairs and preventive / predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment primarily consisting of conveying and sorting equipment at our locations in the fast growing and dynamic logistics and fulfillment industry!

  • Relies on experience and judgment to assign job plans and accomplish departmental goals.
  • Manages C&W Services maintenance & reliability engineer team members at the site.
  • Promotes C&W Services both internally and externally. Must demonstrate people leadership and good judgment in approaching decisions.
  • Assists in formulating standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Maintains positive customer and team member relations.
  • Ensures that RME department objectives and key metrics are met.
  • Acts as a Liaison to Account client operations, C&W Services leadership, and site team members
  • Leads with a People 1 approach by allocating time for one-on-one coaching to team members and provides mentoring with high standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Develops and oversee QA/QC inspection protocol of all work personnel and work performed.
  • Achieves performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals.
  • Communicates with all team members to support the development of short- and long-range goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • A student actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, Management, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
  • Must have working knowledge of the following: proper use of hand/power tools, shop math, pneumatics, power transmissions, parts nomenclature, measurements, and fasteners.
  • Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts and boom lifts.
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Flexibility to relocate after the training program to a permanent location (Ohio, Indiana, NJ, NY, Boston, or Chicago). Relocation assistance is available.

Additional Qualifications

  • Have or possess capability to obtain CMRP / ICML MLT 1
  • Has working knowledge of repairs and preventive / predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment. Repairs and preventive / predictive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards.
