What is an offshore warehouse?

An offshore warehouse is a storage facility located outside the company's home country, often used to reduce shipping times and costs or to access specific markets. Jobs in offshore warehouses typically involve inventory management, shipping, and logistics, often requiring knowledge of international shipping regulations and warehouse management systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Offshore Warehouse position, and why are they important?

To excel in an Offshore Warehouse role, you need strong organizational skills, experience in inventory management, and a good understanding of supply chain logistics, typically supported by a high school diploma or relevant vocational training. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), forklift operation certifications, and basic safety compliance are commonly required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong teamwork skills help you adapt to the fast-paced, collaborative offshore environment. These skills are essential for maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring safety, and supporting efficient operations in challenging offshore conditions.

What is an Offshore Warehouse job?

An Offshore Warehouse job involves managing the storage, inventory, and distribution of materials and equipment on offshore facilities like oil rigs or platforms. Responsibilities typically include tracking supplies, ensuring proper storage, coordinating shipments, and following safety regulations. Workers must be familiar with logistics, inventory systems, and offshore safety protocols. This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring vital supplies are available for offshore operations.

What unique challenges should I expect when working in an offshore warehouse environment?

Working in an offshore warehouse often means adapting to unpredictable weather, limited resources, and the need for heightened attention to safety protocols. You may be required to work extended shifts in rotation and spend significant periods away from home, contributing to a close-knit team dynamic. Daily responsibilities include managing inventory supplies, coordinating with transportation teams, and ensuring all shipments comply with health and safety regulations specific to offshore settings. The role requires strong adaptability, clear communication, and a proactive approach to handling logistical challenges in a remote location.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the US, high-paying roles related to offshore warehousing or logistics, such as senior supply chain executives or operations directors, can reach or exceed $500,000 annually, especially with bonuses and stock options. These positions typically require extensive experience, leadership skills, and industry knowledge, often in large companies or multinational corporations.

How do I get a job working offshore?

To work offshore, you typically need relevant certifications such as Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and relevant technical skills. Job seekers should apply through specialized recruitment agencies, ensure they meet health and safety requirements, and be prepared for a demanding work environment with extended shifts and time away from home.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Offshore warehouse roles typically do not pay $4,000 a week without specialized skills or management experience. High-paying jobs in logistics or supply chain management may reach that level, but they often require experience, certifications, or advanced skills rather than just a warehouse position. Most warehouse jobs pay hourly wages that are below this threshold without additional responsibilities or overtime work.

Job description

Onshore Stock Keeper
Brooklyn, NY
General Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Onshore Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient management of warehouse operations supporting offshore wind service activities. This role ensures that materials, consumables, tooling, Main Components Tooling containers, and scheduled maintenance parts are properly controlled, inspected, forecasted, and staged to meet offshore operational demands. Operating as the shore-side authority for material readiness, the Onshore Warehouse Coordinator coordinates closely with the Offshore Warehouse Coordinator, Offshore Shift Supervisor, and SOV Shift Manager to prepare materials well in advance of offshore execution, maintain high inventory accuracy, and support reliable vessel mobilizations.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the onshore authority for warehouse readiness, ensuring offshore operations are fully supported with compliant, complete, and available materials, tooling, and consumables.
  • Ensure all materials supporting offshore operations are properly received, inspected, stored, and system-registered within the O&M warehouse.
  • Maintain full visibility of material sourcing across local warehouses, vendors, suppliers, and regional hubs to support resilient supply planning.
  • Identify backup material sources, alternative vendors, and approved substitute sizes or components to mitigate supply risk.
  • Lead regular Safety Stock reviews with the Offshore Warehouse Coordinator, Lead Tech, and Offshore Supervisor, proposing adjustments based on risk and consumption trends.
  • Plan parts, tooling, and consumables at least six months in advance, proactively avoiding shortages that could impact offshore execution.
  • Monitor spare-part consumption trends and align planning assumptions with global V236 fleet insights and lessons learned.
  • Own the storage, readiness, and compliance of Main Components Tooling containers, ensuring all calibrated and inspected items are available for offshore work.
  • Perform inventory verification of Main Components Tooling before offshore shipment and after return to ensure completeness and traceability.
  • Re-order, replenish, and restore Main Components Tooling materials and consumables following offshore campaigns.
  • Ensure all spare parts required to achieve first-time-fix objectives are available, serviceable, and staged for offshore execution.
  • Identify and implement alternative material and tooling solutions when primary options are unavailable.
  • Own NCR creation, documentation, and coordination of repairs or returns for non-conforming materials or equipment.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full inventory counts to maintain high system accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments to offshore operations are correctly packaged, labeled, documented, and compliant with Vestas standards prior to loading.
  • Provide material availability updates, consumption insights, and offshore readiness reports to the Senior Operations Manager, SOV Shift Manager, and Offshore Supervisor.
  • Maintain strict 5S warehouse organization and ensure safe storage, segregation, and handling of all materials and consumables.
  • Maintain qualification as a Rigging Inspector to support inspection and compliance of rigging gear and lifting equipment stored onshore.
  • Coordinate fire extinguisher servicing and recharging, ensuring compliant units are available for offshore loading during upcoming port calls.
  • Ensure all calibrated, inspected, and safety-critical tooling remains current, documented, and compliant.
  • Proactively identify and close gaps in material availability, consumables, tooling, or documentation before they impact offshore operations.
  • Ensure outbound logistics documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with offshore requirements prior to shipment.
  • Support offshore operations by providing early visibility of material delays, shortages, quality issues, and mitigation options.
  • Travel offshore occasionally to provide temporary coverage for the Offshore Warehouse Coordinator when required.
  • Maintain warehouse safety, labeling, housekeeping, and hazard-control standards at all times.
  • May be required to travel (10%) within the USA or Canada to audit Special Projects Tooling containers as required
  • This one will be a Brooklyn-based role. Monday-Friday, 8h/day

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to manage warehouse operations independently and maintain high levels of accuracy in inventory systems.
  • Ability to evaluate technical work requirements and translate them into appropriate material, tooling, and preparation needs.
  • Ability to conduct inspections for rigging gear and calibrated tooling.
  • Ability to manage long-term material forecasts, Safety Stock strategy, and supply chain dependencies.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with offshore leadership, supply chain teams, and vendors.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, and stage materials safely in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics setting with frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain OEUK Medical Clearance and successfully pass a Chester Step Test.

Education, Training, and Skills Required:
  • Strong SAP competency or the ability to learn SAP quickly.
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory control (wind or energy-sector experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Safety Stock concepts, forecasting, and supply chain planning.
  • High computer literacy, including Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to complete rigging inspector and fire extinguisher inspector training.
  • Experience with SAP transactions.
  • Familiarity with V236 material and tooling requirements preferred.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including lifting, carrying, staging, and inspecting materials
