Join IS&T's Services Technology team and play a pivotal role in building cutting-edge IT systems for Apple TV Studio & Production and Music operations. As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you will lead and manage several major projects, leveraging your deep technical understanding, exceptional project management skills, and ability to navigate complex cross-functional environments. You'll be instrumental in defining our SDLC processes, translating critical business needs, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable enterprise web applications.
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and motivated Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role requires a hands-on, get-the-job-done attitude, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Apple enterprise web applications with a strong eye for detail on par with Apple's high standards. You will be responsible for managing multiple major projects from inception through delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and technical excellence. A significant aspect of this role involves leading and mentoring other contractor EPMs and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. You will be critical in defining and setting the processes and procedures for our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency. You will champion innovation by leveraging modern generative AI tools to accelerate documentation and optimize workflows. This position demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Functional, Design, Product, and Business stakeholders, requiring you to effectively translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for engineering teams, and vice versa. You will proactively identify and mitigate program risks, remove team impediments, and drive quality across all project phases, from requirements gathering to technical design reviews and testing. Your ability to build strong, trust-based relationships and influence across the organization will be key to your success in our intricate cross-functional environment.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience as an Engineering Project Manager, successfully delivering complex, cross functional projects.
5+ years of experience successfully delivering Agile projects.
5+ years working in complex, highly integrated, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of containerization concepts (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) and orchestration.
Experience with DevOps process automation using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
Experience with continuous integration (e.g., Jenkins) and testing frameworks.
Experience working with distributed, global, and offshore teams.
Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dynatrace or DataDog.
Strong technical understanding of modern architectural patterns, including microservices, async communication, caching strategies, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Solid proficiency in working with SQL or NoSQL Databases.
Familiarity with full-stack development concepts, including backend technologies like Java or Node.js, and frontend frameworks like React.js.
Comfortable with rapid development cycles and tight schedules.
High ownership, self-sufficient, hands-on leader with innovative and creative thinking capabilities.
Ability to present confidently and clearly to senior leadership.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a proven talent for building strong, trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
Hands on experience in Gen AI technologies.
