Recreation Department
Starting at $13.73 - $16.00/hour
Based on qualifications
The Recreation Department offers high quality leisure programs and services that promote healthy and active lifestyles. Engaging programs such as dance, martial arts, yoga, day camps, and sports allow individuals and families the opportunity to meet their physical and social needs.
DUTIES
• Assist a diverse public with the City of Troy Recreation Programs.
• Process Community Center pass/membership applications, Recreation program registrations, and park shelter reservations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for customers, balancing front desk interactions and incoming phone calls with professionalism and efficiency.
• Perform general office duties, including but not limited to copying, filing, organizing records, and maintaining office documents.
• Maintain marketing materials and assist in the marketing of Recreation Programs.
• Enforce rules and regulations in order to ensure a safe environment.
• Provide assistance to other full and part-time employees.
• Attend to accidents, maintenance requests and incidents.
• Be knowledgeable about the City of Troy and assist public with referrals to other City departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School graduate or GED equivalent
• Experience working with Windows-based computers.
• Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public, recreation staff, recreation volunteers, and other City departments.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced environment, using excellent organizational and time management skills.
• As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
PREFERENCES
• Experience in processing sales, registrations.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge and experience with Recreation activities and programs.
HOURS
Year-round. Range of 9-15 hours per week.
Probable Shifts: Monday-Friday 7:45am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-5:00pm
Flexible availability desired for other days and evenings as required. Opportunities may exist to work additional weekdays as a substitute.
