Make a Difference in Student Success

Westover Job Corps Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to support the health, wellness, and success of our students. As a key member of the Health and Wellness team, the RN helps create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment where students can thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating student-centered health and wellness services that promote student retention, achievement, and overall well-being. The RN provides direct nursing care, health education, case management support, and emergency response services while fostering a culture of health and safety across the center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct student health assessments and participate in medical examinations.
  • Provide nursing care, first aid, and emergency medical response as needed.
  • Screen students and coordinate referrals to appropriate medical, dental, behavioral health, and counseling services.
  • Observe, document, and communicate student health concerns, vital signs, symptoms, and progress.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor treatment plans.
  • Educate students on personal health, hygiene, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations.
  • Support case management efforts to address health-related barriers to student success.
  • Promote health and safety initiatives that contribute to a positive campus environment.
  • Maintain medical equipment, supplies, and medication inventory.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support student retention, engagement, and achievement.
  • Oversee CMHC scheduling and provide administrative support to Health and Wellness operations.
Qualifications

Education

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.

Experience

  • Minimum one year of healthcare experience preferred.

Certifications

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare standards, and patient care procedures.
