Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the building Principal, the School Secretary serves as an essential member of the administrative team, providing comprehensive clerical, organizational, and customer service support to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors while maintaining accurate records, managing communications, supporting attendance and student information systems, and assisting with daily administrative functions. The School Secretary promotes a welcoming, professional, and organized environment that supports the school's educational mission and contributes to the success of students and staff.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assists with the copying and distribution of documents and other materials (e.g., correspondence, bulletins, reports) for administrative, instructional and clerical staff.
  • Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference.
  • Assists with answering telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Assists in distributing incoming mail appropriately.
  • Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
  • Assists in supervising and managing students in non-classroom activities such as cafeteria, recess, and busing.
