Job Description:
The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for two (2) Full-Time, Permanent Administrative Specialist 2 - Sex Offender Registration Unit positions. These are in-office positions without the opportunity for a hybrid or remote work schedule.

Summary of Job Duties:
In this position, you will maintain, research and verify offender registration documents. You will ensure accuracy of sex offender registry to meet state and federal statutory requirements. In this position, you will also interpret laws, rules, policies and procedures, and apply those interpretations to determine registration obligations and compliance. You will be responsible for taking action to protect the public and release information if it is of the public interest. In this position, you will also work with a high degree of independence and receive general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis;
OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of resources and independent judgment to make an informed decision
  • Experience conducting research and trying different approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Experience with interpreting laws, rules and program policies and ability to adapt quickly to evolving changes in laws, rules and policies.

  • Demonstrated moderate proficiency with Microsoft programs.
