Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
  • Perform operational maintenance on all water treatment systems.
  • Pump blood from kill room.
  • Monitors wastewater treatment plant and identifies needed changes and potential problems; makes necessary adjustments.
  • Performs chemical analysis of water samples.
  • Cleans drain pads.
  • Operates a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
  • Maintains daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
  • Reviews readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
  • Yard jockey - drives wastewater truck.
  • Oversees the operation of per-treatment equipment.
  • Ensure the Proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment.
  • Be willing to cross train and learn all task in department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Ability to obtain a Wastewater Operator's license.
  • Valid Driver's license, High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to maintain equipment after training Excellent attendance record.
  • Excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposure consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Exposure to outside temperatures.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
  • You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Must handle the weight of 8 to 10 lbs. repetitively, occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling 40 to 70 lbs.
  • Exposure to chemicals used in the poultry processing facility.
  • Exposure to dust, feathers and chemicals used in poultry processing facility.
  • Ability to work in a stationary position, on feet for the entire shift.
  • Ability to work with heavy machinery for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to climb steps and to access and egress through the production environment.
