Off Duty Officers are licensed law enforcement personnel with police credentials, often called upon for security at events or private properties. Security Guards typically hold security licenses and work in private security roles. While both provide security services, Off Duty Officers have law enforcement authority, whereas Security Guards do not. The choice depends on the level of authority and training required for the security task.

What types of assignments and work environments can off duty officers expect, and how do these vary from standard security roles?

Off Duty Officers are often hired for a wide range of assignments, including event security, executive protection, and safeguarding commercial or residential properties. Unlike standard security guards, Off Duty Officers are typically sworn law enforcement professionals, which allows them to handle higher-risk situations and provide a law enforcement presence. Work environments can vary greatly, from public events and construction sites to private residences and retail stores.
