Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Taxes to lead the company's global tax function across approximately 35 countries. This role will serve as the most senior tax leader in the organization and a key advisor to executive leadership on all tax-related matters.

The Director of Taxes will be responsible for global tax compliance, transfer pricing strategy, international tax structuring, and tax risk management. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multinational tax environments, strong leadership capability, and the ability to align tax strategy with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Global Tax Leadership

  • Oversee all tax related matters with the assistance of the U.S. based Tax Manager, international controllers, and third-party tax advisors (domestic and international)
  • Develop and execute the company's global tax strategy aligned with business growth and operational footprint
  • Serve as primary tax advisor to the CFO, executive team, and owner.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee global tax compliance (corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, etc.)
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings across all jurisdictions
  • Lead annual tax provision processes (ASC 740)
  • Manage global audits and tax authority inquiries

Transfer Pricing

  • Design, implement, and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation
  • Ensure alignment with OECD guidelines and local country requirements
  • Manage intercompany agreements and defend positions in audits

International Tax & Structuring

  • Advise on tax-efficient structuring of global operations, IP ownership, and intercompany financing
  • Support expansion into new markets
  • Monitor and respond to global tax developments (e.g., OECD Pillar Two, BEPS initiatives)

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Customer Operations teams
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, (CPA, JD, or MST strongly preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including 4+ years in transfer pricing support, as well as: U.S. and international tax rules, S-Corps, Passthrough Entity Taxes, ASC 740 / tax accounting , OECD guidelines and BEPS initiative
  • Experience in a global software / technology company strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to operate at executive level and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams
