Job Opportunity

By joining our team at our Chicago office, you will have the chance to apply your skills to support the end-to-end management of ocean import shipments and related operational activities, including shipment coordination, documentation, tracking, cost control, and customer support, making a direct impact on service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage ocean import shipments from global origins to final destination for the ATL and CHI districts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment information, documentation, and data entry in systems such as CargoWise.
  • Coordinate with customers, overseas agents, steamship lines, terminals, truckers, rail providers, warehouses, and customs brokers.
  • Monitor shipments in transit, including ETAs, delays, rollovers, and exceptions, providing proactive updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare and process required documentation, resolving discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Coordinate delivery appointments, cargo recovery, container returns, and final mile execution.
  • Proactively manage shipment timelines to avoid storage, detention, and demurrage charges.
  • Prepare invoices and manage ocean-related charges, including payables, receivables, accruals, detention, and demurrage.
  • Update quotes and charges based on changes in routing, weight, measurements, container utilization, or carrier rates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client SOPs, tariff regulations, and operational best practices.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Competences:

  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in similar roles. 
  • Educational background in Business, International Relations, Communication, Foreign Trade, Languages, or related fields. 
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. 
  • Knowledge of CargoWise One software is considered a plus. 
  • Knowledge of documentation related to Ocean Import shipments. 
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
