International Account Manager

As an International Account Manager, you'll be at the forefront of managing complex international shipping needs for our diverse client base. You'll leverage your extensive industry knowledge to provide professional, timely, and compliant solutions, ensuring seamless end-to-end global transportation.

What You'll Do:

  1. Navigate the Global Trade Landscape: Become an expert in import/export compliance and trade regulations, proactively communicating updates to clients and internal teams. You'll be instrumental in maintaining accurate ISF (Importer Security Filings) for ocean imports, ensuring daily compliance.
  2. Master International Shipments: Competently manage all facets of international shipments, including air freight, ocean freight, intermodal transportation, and handling of hazardous and regulated/licensed commodities. From initial booking to final delivery, you'll orchestrate efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  3. Strategic Client Partnership: Work in partnership with clients to educate, define, document, and optimize their International Supply Chain. You'll develop strong relationships built on trust and confidence, offering innovative routing solutions and negotiating optimal pricing with carriers and agents to win their business.
  4. Operational Excellence: Ensure accurate data entry and meticulous attention to detail for every shipment within our proprietary BTX Ship system and Google Docs. You'll monitor pre-alerts, quote requests, and bookings, confirming receipt and managing all necessary documentation.
  5. Proactive Communication & Support: Maintain constant communication with agents, carriers, and clients at origin and destination, ensuring smooth transit and timely resolution of any issues. You'll respond to inquiries promptly, assist with claims, and proactively share industry updates from resources like the Journal of Commerce.
  6. Financial Acumen: Ensure all shipments are accurately turned over for invoicing within 7-10 days of delivery, verifying all costs and charges are precise and as quoted.
  7. Team Collaboration: Support and train new team members as needed, contributing to a collaborative and knowledgeable work environment. You'll also participate in our on-call/overnight rotation as a salaried employee, demonstrating your commitment to client needs.

  1. Logistics Acumen: You possess an Associate's degree or equivalent, coupled with 2-3 years of related logistics and freight forwarding industry experience. You have a strong understanding of supply chain principles and the ability to calculate critical figures like volume weight.
  2. Compliance & Regulations: Proficient knowledge of import/export compliance and trade regulations is essential. HAZMAT Certification and TSA Testing Requirements (or the ability to obtain them) are a significant plus.
  3. Technology Savvy: You're comfortable utilizing transportation management software, including our BTX Ship platform, and are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  4. Problem-Solver Extraordinaire: You're highly organized, detail-minded, and possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. You anticipate challenges and proactively seek "one step ahead" solutions.
