Job description

???? WE'RE HIRING: Group & Event Sales Manager — The Clevelander & Essex House, South Beach ????????

If you can sell a room and a vibe, we need to talk..

JHR is looking for a Group & Event Sales Manager to sell two business lines across two iconic South Beach hotels:

????️ Group Room Sales — room blocks and meetings business at both The Clevelander, the legendary Art Deco landmark that's been the heartbeat of Ocean Drive since 1938, and her more buttoned-up (but still very Miami) sister property, Essex House.

???? F&B/Catering Events — Our iconic Pool & Patio + event venues. This is the side that sells the experience — the pool parties, the rooftop buyouts, the brand activations, the private events people fly in for.

Basically: you're selling the rooms people sleep in and the famous venue everyone's trying to get into.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Hunting down and closing group room and meeting business across both hotels
  • Prospecting and proactively sourcing new group and event business — cold outreach, networking, planner relationships, you name it — because the best deals don't come to you, you go get them
  • Selling F&B/Catering events at the Clevelander's signature spaces (corporate parties, brand activations, social events, pool buyouts, the wild and the wonderful)
  • Building relationships with planners, DMCs, and repeat clients who'll keep coming back to Ocean Drive
  • Site visits that involve walking clients past the pool, up to the rooftop, and catching the sunset on the 4th floor terrace
  • Crafting proposals, negotiating contracts, and getting deals across the finish line
  • Working hand-in-hand with catering, ops, and entertainment teams to make sure what you sold actually happens (and happens well)
  • Hitting revenue goals across both group and events while reminding yourself daily that your office view includes the Atlantic Ocean

What you bring:

  • Hotel/hospitality sales experience covering both group room sales and F&B/event sales (South Beach or resort/lifestyle market a major plus)
  • A closer's instinct and a planner's follow-through
  • Comfort selling both "corporate room block" and "client wants confetti cannons at the pool"
  • Organization skills sharp enough to juggle two hotels and two sales motions without dropping a single RFP
  • A genuine love for Miami energy — because you'll be living it

???? Let's talk money:

Competitive base salary + monthly commission on every group and event you close — paid out as a percentage of revenue booked, with escalating bonus tiers once you blow past target. Full commission structure shared during interview stage.
