Occupational Health Nurse Job Summary

Kelly Services is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Nurse to support employee health, safety, and wellness initiatives in a dynamic workplace environment. This position provides occupational health nursing services, emergency first aid, preventive health programs, wellness support, and case management activities while working under the guidance of senior occupational health professionals and designated physicians as required.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse with strong organizational, communication, and clinical assessment skills who is passionate about promoting employee well-being and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational health nursing services and emergency first-aid treatment for employees experiencing illness or injury in the workplace.
  • Coordinate transportation and referrals to external medical providers as needed.
  • Participate as an active member of the Emergency Response/First Aid Team.
  • Administer medications, injections, treatments, and therapies under physician supervision and within state nursing practice guidelines.
  • Conduct health evaluations, screenings, health profiles, drug screenings, and wellness assessments.
  • Promote employee wellness programs, preventive health initiatives, and well-being resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Provide employee education, counseling, and referrals regarding health concerns and available resources.
  • Assist with Workersโ€™ Compensation programs and medical leave administration.
  • Support occupational health clinic operations and maintain clinical equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Human Resources, safety teams, healthcare providers, and employees.
  • Participate in program evaluations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
  • Maintain current nursing licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, company policies, OSHA regulations, privacy requirements, and applicable state and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent nursing education.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Zoom.
  • Ability to work within the scope of nursing practice and comply with applicable regulations and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in occupational health, emergency room, intensive care, acute care, or related nursing environments.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing and/or Case Management, or willingness to obtain certification within three years of hire.
  • Spirometry and Audiometry certifications, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • OSHA
    • ADA
    • FMLA
    • Workersโ€™ Compensation
    • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Participation in the Bloodborne Pathogens Program is required.
  • Active participation on the site Emergency Response Team is required.
  • Work is performed in a clinical and occupational health setting supporting employee health and safety initiatives.
