Splunk / Observability Engineer

Location: New York, NY

Job Type: Contract

Role Overview

The Splunk / Observability Engineer will focus on hands-on engineering of dashboards, integrations, data onboarding, and alerting to enhance the maturity of observability across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards and visualizations
  • Engineer integrations with platforms such as ServiceNow, ThousandEyes, and OpManager
  • Perform data onboarding, parsing, normalization, and enrichment
  • Design and refine alerts, correlations, and noise reduction strategies
  • Support service-level observability use cases and analytics
  • Collaborate with ITSI and CMDB teams for service visibility

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in Splunk engineering or observability roles
  • Strong SPL, data modeling, and dashboarding skills
  • Experience integrating Splunk with ITSM and monitoring tools
  • Solid understanding of metrics, logs, traces, and alerting best practices
