Job description

Position: Lead Splunk / Dynatrace Engineer
Location: Hartford, CT

Duration: long term

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Splunk/Dynatrace Engineer with deep technical expertise in observability, search optimization techniques, and data quality best practices. This role will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise monitoring platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, in-depth knowledge of ActiveGate concepts, Dynatrace extensions, alert configurations, and practical experience with AWS EC2 and Terraform automation.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in Splunk/Dynatrace engineering and 2+ years in a lead capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of search query optimization and data quality validation in Splunk.
  • Hands-on experience with ActiveGate setup, Dynatrace extensions, and alert configurations.
  • Proven experience launching and managing AWS EC2 instances and Terraform IaC.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Good understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
