Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Natural Gas Scheduler for their Dallas, TX or Houston, TX office. Relocation assistance is available. U.S. Citizens only.

Responsibilities

This position will be based out of Dallas, TX or Houston, TX. 

This Scheduler will gather, coordinate and balance gas nominations to be transported through company operated non-FERC and FERC regulated pipelines and storage facilities. Minimize imbalances for both shippers and interconnecting pipelines.

Directly responsible for balancing all transportation volume activities for assigned facilities. Directly responsible for the daily verification and monitoring of scheduled volumes and imbalances for assigned systems and ensuring that the correct individuals are notified so action to minimize exposure is undertaken.

This position requires working before/after regular office hours and some holidays and alternating weekends which is typical in this type of role.

  • Gain & apply working knowledge of Company owned pipeline systems in order to understand opportunities for transportation efficiencies.
  • Handle all aspects of Nominations and Balancing on company and non-company Electronic Bulletin Boards (“EBB”) while working closely with our transportation customers.
  • Ensure that all daily and monthly gas nomination procedures, including third party EBB’s, are complied with, and all nominations and confirmations are handled in timely order, advising appropriate parties of operational issues.
  • Enter all relevant data associated with transactions into the transaction management system via EBB or by hand as appropriate. Volumetrically balance the systems as required and manage the volume flow through the system ensuring all arrangements and nominations are properly reflected.
  • Monitor and report daily receipts and deliveries at interconnects for imbalance positions. Provide recommendations to eliminate imbalance positions and minimize volumetric and financial exposure.
  • Work closely with Transportation Manager and Contract Administration to ensure all contracts and deals are correctly structured to support our operations.
  • After hours and weekend on-call coverage is required.

Qualifications

  • College Degree REQUIRED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience covering all phases of natural gas scheduling REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of the natural gas pipeline grid REQUIRED.
  • Experience with pipeline system balancing procedures REQUIRED.
  • Understanding volume imbalances, OBA’s, transport statements, pipeline tariffs, and EBB applications REQUIRED.
  • Understanding of operational issues associated with larger, FERC regulated systems having various interstate and intrastate pipeline connectivity REQUIRED.
  • Understanding of pipeline operations including pressures, flow rates and capacity issues REQUIRED.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel REQUIRED.

Salary is DOE and may range between $90K-$120K plus full benefits, wellness programs, bonuses, etc. Relocation assistance is available, candidates will report to the Dallas or Houston office.

GROWTH- This individual will have the opportunity to move into a lead role within 6-8 months.
