Shift: Monday-Friday: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM with every other weekend and holiday rotation

The OB technician is a member of the of the obstetrics team providing expertise in handling surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency operative cases. The OB technician assembles and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies for all obstetrical operative deliveries, using surgeon preference cards as a reference. Sets up and maintains the intra-operative sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs. Supports the surgeon during complicated or anticipated high risk vaginal births, including but not limited to mid-forceps, breech deliveries, double set ups, and any other birth where scrub and technical expertise is required/requested. The technician may function as a second assist. The OB technician understands and maintains current knowledge and practice of family centered care and hospital policies and procedures.
