How you’ll make an impact in this role

Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital is seeking FULL TIME OB/GYN Laborist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collegial environment with a long standing OB community service line.  A lot of opportunity for GYN surgeries as well as continued work with our DaVinci Robotic Arm and the ability to have flexible shift coverage to work with our great outpatient OBGYN team.

Highlights:

  • 11 shifts per month with the option of the below combination
    • 14 hr. shifts 5p-7a on weeknights
    • 12 hr. shifts 7p-7a Friday nights and weekends; opportunity for 24 hour shifts on weekends
  • ED OB and Gyn coverage
  • Level 1 Nursery, no high risk patients (sent to our MFM service line)
  • Deliveries/year: 300 *12% Annual increase in deliveries*
  • Board Certification Required
  • Laparoscopic Surgery required

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate
    discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
